HR Generalist (Remote)

About the Position:

Supports the HR team and responsible for employee relations support, benefits administration, onboarding and off-boarding of employees, personnel file compliance and talent acquisition support. Serves as the initial point of contact for HR related customer service to all employees.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees, ensuring a smooth transition and positive experience for all parties involved

  • Responsible for the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction

  • Oversee the administration of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) requests, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and providing support to employees navigating FMLA-related issues

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and managers on various HR-related matters

  • Provide consultative and coaching, supporting employee relations investigations, documentation and conflict resolution

  • Provide responsive and compassionate support to employees, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely manner to promote employee satisfaction and well-being

  • Partner with managers to support their efforts in providing constructive feedback to employees, both orally and in writing, and assist in resolving conflicts or performance issues as needed

  • Escalate complex or sensitive employee relations matters to the HR Manager and support follow-up actions in coordination with the HR Manager and legal counsel to ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.

  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, practices, and procedures, that promote compliance, fairness, and consistency across the organization while also aligning with best practices and industry standards

  • Supports and recommends employee engagement and management practices as necessary to establish positive employee relationships and a high level of employee morale

  • Build engaging relationships with organizational stakeholders, cross functional partners, vendors, and/or external partners through trust, teamwork, and direct communication.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field with a minimum of 3 years of HR generalist/specialist experience

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • PHR/ SHRM CP designation

Required License and/or credential(s):

  • None

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office required

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Solution oriented with strong problem-solving ability

  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal employment and compensation laws and payroll practices

  • Knowledge of various HR and applicant tracking systems

  • Demonstrated experience in benefits administration

  • Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate initiatives, track progress, and meet deadlines

  • Experience managing and analyzing HR data to support reporting, compliance, and decision making

  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail oriented, highly accurate; strong organizational and customer service skills

Special Position Requirements:

Travel:

Up to 10% as needed

Working Conditions:

Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Ability to communicate effectively (hear, listen, speak) with or without reasonable accommodations.
